Downloads that resume
Paused segments are kept together in a hidden .XDM cache in the chosen download folder, then merged and cleaned after completion.
File actions that feel native
Preview partial video, reveal in Finder, open with your default app, or choose another installed macOS application.
Control the queue
Choose your appearance, download destination, up to 10 active downloads, and up to 20 connections per download in Settings.
BROWSER INTEGRATION
Bring downloads from the browser to the app.
Install the XDM New browser monitor to send direct browser downloads to the local app. XDM New creates the user-level native browser bridge from Settings; the extension remains off until you enable monitoring.
Already using the original XDM Firefox Browser Monitor? It can also connect to XDM New. Quit the old XDM application first: the two apps cannot run browser monitoring together because they share the same local browser connection.

The browser monitor requires XDM New to be running with browser monitoring enabled. The original XDM extension may also connect, but the original XDM application must be closed.

XDM New is an independent macOS-focused modernization based on the historical GPL-2.0 Xtreme Download Manager project. Public downloads, checksums, release notes, and support documentation are maintained in the release repository.
XDM New contains GPL-covered work. Distribution of modified executables requires access to the complete corresponding source under the applicable GPL terms.
